you turned 4!

time flies.

you turned 4. what a wonderful 4 years you have given me so far!

we wanted to have simple celebration for you this year. but like most parties, it became quite an elaborate affair, that stretched over 2 days. Party with family and close friends on 10 may 2009 (sunday) & 11 may 2009 (monday).

you were very excited. we are so blessed to have good family & friends that all chipped in to make the parties great memories. papa made a video for you too!

you turned 3

you have finally crossed the baby mark, officially a toddler!

everyone around seem excited about your birthday and that you were turning 3!


mama watched you, feeling a little melancholic about the fact that you are growing you too fast...but then again, i am always feeling this way.


perhaps my plan of being with you every step of the way did not exactly happen. it did not happen the way i wanted it to be anyway.


mama made the choice of returning to work. not realising that work overcame me so much that i often could not pull myself away.

you turned TWO

here's the over-due post about your 2nd birthday. before you turn 25 months in a few day's time...here it goes, as much as i can recall...

11 may 2007, beautiful sunny day. cool spring zephyr in the air.

papa's even was over, we could spend a day with him. we decided to go down town san diego, gaslamp quaters.

sum up this special day in a few words:

shopped, balloons, pictures click click click, noisey italian restaurant, sparkling birthday candel on 1st tiamisu...sarah watched in amazement! sing our way hom=), ribbons, fairy, sweet dreamsss...

you were not at your best behavior i have to say. but as the day moved on, it got better. you are trying to communicate something to us. though we are doing that better now, all 3 of us, you papa and mama need to be more patient with each other still.

i cannot figure out what to do. mama wonder how can i do a better job in leading you along the "right path"...but which is right or which seem right, but is actually wrong?

countless questions i asked myself all the time. I did alot more during the trip. paid close attention to you, your reactions, your tantrums, your joy etc...

at the end i told myself,

"...just enjoy the moments with her...i'll figure some of them out later..."...which i did =)

birthday present from mama to you, someday,

hope that someday you will read it and remember the words

market-party-swim-party

today we went to baby natelie's 1 month party. she is a beautiful baby of aunt sandra. natelie is borned on 15 febuary 2007! 1 day after st valentines day, 1 day before chinese new year.

then we went o xuefen ahyi's place for tea and you went for a swim with papa and uncle daniel. he also showed you how to throw a basket ball reeeeeeal high! hahaha..he regretted doing that ;)

after the swim you were so tired. we went to peng-yi's house for yi-cheong's birthday party. his actual birthday was 18 march. but people do celebrate it earlier, so that there is more fun! and we get to rest the next day =)

you had such fun with alllll the jiejie...hahaha...see the pictures!

(so fun to play with jie jie...we love those sssshhhhoes!, peng-yi's house, singapore)

the day ended with a hearty singing of birthday song, yummy birthday cake...oooooo! =p

Weekends of Gong Gongs (part1- 28 sep - 1 oct)

for the past 2 weekends, you have been spending time with gong gongs, 公公(''爸-公公'') &爷爷 (阿公)

28 september, 2006.

there was a huge celebration for bah-gong gong's 70th birthday. (almost)everyone headed home to sierra mas, kl for this event! besides the world cup of 2006 (which mama don't care much for), this is the other major event of the year!

for the past month may-yi, mama and papa were busy with aunt dom over in canada to contribute to 1 wee bit to this celebration. aunt dom has helped us produced a dvd presentation of bah-gonggong's life story and birthday greetings!

you had fun at the party. for the 1st time, papa and i witnessed the ''musical''/ ''theatrical'' (haha) side of you! you hung on to the microphone and refused to pass it on during the performance segment for gonggong! it made everyone laughed and mama blushed a little. =)

this trip home to kl was especially fun for you as you now and learnt to play with ALLLLL the gorgors and JJs (哥哥&姐姐). you watched them chased each other up & down the hall...you had a ball! at quieter times, you'd go over the darling-xuan, said ''妹妹!! ...mmmuah!'' and smiled gladly. you love her!

bah-gonggong is indeed a special gonggong, papa, brother, son & friend. he is loved by so many people cos he love us all! one of mama's greatest joy is to have you meet him and while you're growing up, get to know him and love him! he was so happy when you looked at him, smiling and said,'' ..gggong gong gong gong...!''. =)
